There was a real buzz of excitement about the projects with some ambitious plans on the table. Ideas had just been pitched, projects selected and teams formed.
The second year students were right on the brink of starting to produce their major assignment – eight sixty-second television commercials (TVCs). At the time, like most film schools, GFS had few fully online courses. In the first weeks of March staff at Griffith Film School (GFS) listened closely to every announcement from the Federal Government, anticipating that universities would soon be declared closed. So, this may never happen, but it might.Teaching cinematography online in the time of COVID-19, with Cine Tracer and Griffith Film School – by Erika Addis and Ben CotgroveĪ student-created, neo-noir scene in Cine Tracer – DOP Jason MorrisĮA – I’ll remember March 2020 forever, as the moment when the virus COVID-19 changed my professional teaching practice and workplace, virtually overnight. We will be testing it over the next few months and report on if we will fold it into the main branch or not. We currently plan on implementing RTX lighting now that Unreal Engine 4.22 officially supports it. If enough people comment on social media requesting on asset, that is more likely to get added.
We are adding assets to the game in almost every patch and update. We are looking into solutions to enable this, but third party screen recording software is so good and efficient we are not making it a high priority. We recommend using OBS or any software (it’s built into many Operating Systems) that allows you to record the screen. We are looking into solutions to make importing custom assets into the game possible. Nor can you “MOD” the game at this point. RTX lighting technology may help this effort. We are working on making the lighting and exposure more accurately tied to the real world. It does not currently apply the real world photometrics to the camera exposure or lights output. Cine Tracer lighting “represents” real world lighting. Cine Tracer is more similar to “creative modes” found in games like Minecraft and Fortnite. Is there a typical “game mode” with quests, achievements, etc.? No there is not. You can read the EULA to understand the licensing agreement to use Cine Tracer. WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR USING CINE TRACER? We are looking to grow the Cine Tracer development team in the future, but we do not currently have any open positions. We do not currently have an official feedback online forum and we cannot currently guarantee one on one technical support. We read all of our social media accounts and those are good places to put them. But you can refund, if you don’t like it, see above. If you play the game less than 2 hours, you can “Refund” it on Please, read the official Steam/Valve policy, we do not control that process nor can we manually refund. Please consult Valve/Steam policy, Cinematography Database (developer) do not control this.
You can install Steam on as many computers as you want and install Cine Tracer. We do not currently have one, so the rules are not set yet. If we make a "mobile” version or sister app, that may require a separate purchase. Buying a license of the game on will allow you access to both the PC and MacOS version of the game. However, please follow us on social media to track the frequency of our updates :) DO I GET THE PC AND MACOS VERSION? Technically we are not required to “finish” or even “update” the game further.* We may add and remove features and content as needed. Save files may not be compatible after updates, however we work to not have this happen.
It means that the game isn’t in a “finished” or “final release” state.Įxpect each update to change the game radically. WHAT IS EARLY RELEASE?Įarly Release is a Steam concept.
If you buy the Early Release on you will get all of the updates leading up to the full release and the full release. DO I GET THE FULL VERSION, IF I BUY THE EARLY RELEASE ON STEAM? Download the Steam client from and search for Cine Tracer and follow instructions to purchase and install the game.
